For those of you keeping score at home, the list of people, groups and nations that do not like

“Avatar” include social and political conservatives, anticolonialists, antismoking advocates,

the Vatican and China.

Twelve years ago, “Titanic” took the world by storm with an unprecedented 15 weeks as the No.

1 film at the domestic box office. When all was said and done, the film earned more than $600

million domestically, $1.8 billion worldwide and 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and

Best Director for Cameron.

When word of “Avatar” first broke, the film community was intrigued but skeptical. Cameron

and execs at Twentieth Century Fox were making outrageous claims that the visual effects were

groundbreaking, that “Avatar” was going to change filmmaking as we know it.

Thus far, the success of “Avatar” has so closely resembled that of “Titanic” that it’s

starting to feel as if the entertainment world is stuck in some kind of bizarre Zodiac cycle,

wherein a Cameron-helmed box office behemoth is born every 12 years. Might we expect another

box office game-changer in December 2021?

Shine a few beautiful pic of “Avatar”…
It’s grate!
